England out?

Well as ever the inevitable occurred although despite all the defense of Rooney he is very responsible. His temper tantrum resulted in England playing on the back foot and will little chance of winning when I had confidence they would. We mustn't forget the major Media hype which added to the pressure and the trample of business to rip us all off by plastering anything in a George Cross in the vain hope we will buy it. Now we can get on with our lives and back to reality!

Fighting Fit

Having missed circuit and boxing for over a year now due to shifts and changing jobs twice I am now back to my old self. How I missed the feeling of exercising every muscle in my body. How I forgeot what it is like to wander around for a week after with every movement agony. Oh yes getting fit is all about will power... I will need a will at this rate.

Traffic lights are great. All it takes is a green light to stop tons of steel and rubber. So why is it some twats insist on accelerating when a green light goes to amber on a crossing? I have narrowly been missed on two occasions by these bottom dwellers and it isn't the chavs but the bloody 4 x 4 kiddy droppers that are the worst. Sorry not sexist ( NO I AM NOT!) but on one occassion I was on my motorbike and swerved into the road to avoid a door swinging into traffic only to be confronted with mum ( and I use the term lightly) dodging traffic instead of using the crossing 10 feet away. Great example to the kid who fortunately had the nonce to stay on the pavement. Kids 1 Daft Fuckwits 0. She then went back got into her "dizze" and pulled out shooting a red light at the very crossing the daft cow should have used. Laugh! I nearly smiled.

good question! Changing jobs and homes and all it's been a long time since I have updated this but you can be sure during that time I have observed the world of the thicko and grinned in the face of 4 x 4 twats on their phones dropping their kids off at school et al...

Who what where when?

Thanks to Butterfly to remind me I haven't updated blog in a while. I have moved job and home hence the off-line. Well I am here and 4 weeks into the new job all is fine. One great thing is that now living "Up North" there is still no shortage of muppets. As usual the trains continue to be a source of amusement, from the chavette who moaned at me for taking the out of date sarnies from the fridge in the train cafe at Banbury. Of course I was stupid, everyone knows you keep the out of date ones on the bottom shelf on display? To the chocolate machine in Oxford Station that dispenses hot drinking chocolate cleverly disguised as Aero.

Shouts out to the learner driver who drove along Richmond Road today in the face of some twat in a rover (wannabee BMW) and the infamous woman in a 4 x 4 who both overtook me on a blind bend to be faced with a car (the learner) coming along the other lane. The irony of a learner having these eejuts display what not to do was perhaps lost on these selfish muppets but I smiled a smile of knowing ;-)

oops I did it again..

Interesting today another bum driver - a silver grey small people thingy nearly ran down a woman in front of me just past Goring-By-Sea shops. The woman in question was recklessly standing in the road dressed only in a full length dayglo jacket and holding a pole with a sign on the top saying CHILDREN CROSSING. The cheek .... fuck me!!

Nobody killed me today..... so far

Today was the first day in over 2 weeks that I haven't had a close call on my ride to work. A couple of days ago my rucksack was clipped by some woman taking her kids somewhere in a "people mover" and just after, I passed her in Richmond Road where she was parked up talking to the White Van driver who's wing mirror she had just smashed!! what can you say.

Blimey, been busy and not had much time to do anything. I did however get a chance to compile my wardriving results into a map so in an effort to get people to wake up and smell the roses and actually put at the very least 64bit WEP on their wireless I will publish the map of those APS showing those secured and those nice and open for the world to peek in!.. Now I am not encouraging peeps to go and sniff these networks but with the recent BBC program on BotNet attacks showing how they rely on idiot computer users who irresponsibly use their PC's on broadband without any protection I think we need a little encouragement.

There are countless tools out there to protect users, firewalls like ZoneAlarm are free as is antivirus AVG or Avast and with Spybot S & D and Ad-Aware there is no excuse for not protecting your PC. There is of course commercially available options from Symantec and McAfee so
NO EXCUSE!
In addition not protecting your wireless is inexcusable given that all support WEP and even with it's vulnerabilities in enough for most.

Well the Vivitar works but that's the last time I buy anything from Savastore who took a lifetime to replace a faulty unit. Taking the opportunity to relax in the sun in Worthing, nursing a chesty cough :-(

I would go to the swimming pool but it's packed and creaking at the edges. We were supposed to have a new pool over a year ago but the building and proposals are being stalled by the Councillors. They are desperate to build a swimming pool in the Teville Gate site rather than at the Sports Centre whatever the cost and I wonder if they realy care about the Town or are trying to leave a legacy to their control or other reasons??

Oh and they are dead against the cycle path on the seafront so Worthing will become the great cycle lane gap. Our Councillors care more about bringing cars into the town to spend money and pay parking fees that actually make it a pleasant place to visit. I live in the town centre and I can assure you it is going downhill.

Today I got back my infamous Vivitar media player and looking forward to trying it tonight to see why it took 2 weeks for Savastore to send me a replacement.

Yesterday I shouted at a driver as he drove through West Worthing shops. He was driving his silver Peugeout Hatch with his wifey next to him and little johnney on the back seat whilst jabbering on the phone (one of those lame clam shell ones). I pointed and shouted "with a kid in the back and still on the bloody phone!" and generally weaved in front of him. Within a few seconds he hung up although I figure it had more to do with his call ending than giving a shit about the safety of his partner and kid. Shame on mum though for letting him do it. I dispair at the ignorance of people sometimes.

Things did get better however, as I bimbled up though Ferring a little old lady in an even older car pulled out in front of me and tried to run me over. I breaked and as she drove on she waved and smiled at me. How nice and pleasant dangerous drivers have become.

Best buy is the Shinco SDP-1731A from Firefox - great all round portable DVD with excellent image quality and groovy facilites.

oh and I forgot to mention.....

My new Media Recorder rocks! capture is a doddle and the unit is tiny :) not only that it arrived in 2 days from the US and within 10 minutes I was recording TV programmes to watch on the train. Yahoo!! - Savastore could learn from them how to keep customers happy!

Toast!

Just emailed Savastore asking for a delivery date for my non existent DVR-390H 20GB Multimedia Player with Camera or my money back. Waste of time these people - We hear that consumer sales are down? These people seem to be doing all they can to piss me off and make me never want to use them again? I suggested that if they don't respond I will issue a summons for the amount they owe. ;-) let's hope somebody with give the useless support department a slap around the ear and remind them who pays their wages?

I am getting angry ... very angry .....

and am seriously considering beating some eggs or battering some fish!

Still no news from Watford about my naff Vivitar unit, another email today - They have had it since the 13th May "testing". What exactly are they testing? I recorded 3 films on it all with out of sync sound? Seems to me a stalling tactic. I will give them another couple of days then it's issue the legal letter time. How annoying. I want to spend money with these people but they seem to be doing all they can to drive me away?

And it's even more windy than ever!
